The Hudsonville Education Foundation’s annual Innovation in Education Award began in 2012 through a generous donation by a local couple. This couple had the vision of honoring, each year, a Hudsonville teacher or staff member or volunteer who has shown true innovation in their teaching methods and classroom activities. There are four criteria listed on the application for this award:
- Reaches students in an innovative way
- Demonstration of student results
- The impact of the nominee’s unique techniques
- The possibility of replicating the innovation
