2012 Awarded Grants

These are the grants that were awarded by the HEF in 2012.

Elizabeth Bocks – High School

The HEF awarded a grant for the purchase of infant manikins to be used by students in the lifeguarding class and to teach CPR classes to the community.

Patti Bouwens – Alward Elementary

The HEF awarded a grant for the purchase of historical fiction books to be used by students to expand their reading and inspire their writing.

Rachel Manzer – Freshman Campus

The HEF awarded a grant for the purchase of books to be used by high school ELL students to improve their decoding and comprehension skills.

Sara Murphy – Georgetown Elementary

The HEF awarded a grant for the purchase of materials to be used by ECSE students to build the necessary skills for future academic success.

Erika Novoselich – South Elementary

The HEF awarded a grant for the purchase of Ukuleles to be used by students to increase their foundation in music.

Lindsey O’Gorman – High School

The HEF awarded a grant for the purchase of high quality equipment to be used by students in the culinary classroom.

Matthew Richardson – Riley Street Middle School

The HEF awarded a grant for the purchase of composting bins to be used by students to learn about reducing, reusing, and recycling the earth’s resources.

Matthew Richardson and Stacey Burmeister – Baldwin and Riley Street Middle Schools

The HEF awarded a grant for the purchase of Science Olympiad resources to be used by students to create their projects for competition.

Camryn Swiatlowski – Park Elementary

The HEF awarded a grant for the purchase of sensory tools to be used by students to help them integrate sensory information so greater learning can occur.

Christine Webster – High School

The HEF awarded a grant for the purchase a hydroponic system to be used by students in the Botany and Environmental Strategies classes.
