2013 Awarded Grants

These are the grants that were awarded by the HEF in 2013.

Ryan Bialochowski – Georgetown Elementary

The HEF awarded a grant for the purchase of models to be used in teaching 5th grade students about the human body systems and the sun and it’s relationship to the Earth and moon, the seasons, and other planets.

Kim Clark and Shauna Karel – Georgetown Elementary

The HEF awarded a grant for the purchase of Wiggle Seats which give ECSE students a variety of seating surfaces to increase attention and improve core muscle strength, balance, and posture.

Jack DeLeeuw – Jamestown Elementary

The HEF awarded a grant for the purchase of math vocabulary books to be used by students to identify important math vocabulary for each math unit and improve their math knowledge.

Wayne Haight – High School

The HEF awarded a grant for the purchase of a woodturning lathe to be used by students to learn the art of woodturning by creating pens, Christmas ornaments, bowls, lamps, vases, and other items.

Anne Leifer – South Elementary

The HEF awarded a grant for the purchase of books for 1st & 2nd grade students to take home and read with their parents.

Matthew Richardson – Baldwin and Riley Street Middle Schools

The HEF awarded a grant for the purchase of four Scout Pro scales for 6th, 7th & 8th grade science students.

Camryn Swiatlowski – Bauer Elementary

The HEF awarded a grant for the purchase of a sensory tool kit to be used by students to address their sensory needs and increase their learning.

Christine Westveld – Riley Street Middle School

The HEF awarded a grant for the purchase of e-book readers, Kindles, for 6th grade ELA students.
