The 2017 Innovation in Education Award was presented to Josey Brouwer, Art Teacher from Georgetown Elementary. She was nominated for her gift of reaching each child’s inner creativity. She introduces her students to original artists in creative ways using varied media. She also displays her students’ work in the HPS buildings with permanent displays. “Each and every student [of hers] sees the world in a more colorful, diverse and multi-dimensional way.”
